The Good Hair Collective Giveaway and Sale Event

Written by , Posted in BUBU, Giveaways

A couple of months ago, we joined the Ministry of Trade movement to promote Ugandan talent and Ugandan businesses in the natural hair arena. Today, we are delighted to showcase The Good Hair Collective – who have been kind enough to give away a butter and clay to two winners and discounted products for the rest of us. In their own words…

good hair collective

The Good Hair Collective (TGHC) is a small Ugandan-owned business, providing quality, organic handmade products for hair and skin care. It was founded in 2013, as a way to help women access hair and skin products which are organic, gentle and good for the overall health of their own bodies and their children’s.

After realizing how many synthetic and often harmful chemicals were being put into many brand-name hair and skin care products on the market in Uganda – such as petrolatum and parabens – the Good Hair Collective set out to introduce a line of nourishing products, filled only with beneficial and organic ingredients, and no synthetic preservatives.

Our flagship product was the whipped hair & body butters, combining organic oils of Shea, Cocoa, coconut and essential oils for a truly nourishing hair experience. The butters can be used to seal in moisture, add sheen, and hold & define curly styles like Bantu knots, twists, flexi rod sets, etc.

Being natural (free of petroleum & mineral oils) and PH-balanced, they are safe to use on both adults and children. They work excellently for dry skin too, and can alleviate eczema, stretch-marks and other skin problems. Available in delicious scents of vanilla, mint choc & orange.

TGHC also makes deep conditioning clay, of Moroccan red clay, Shea butter, raw honey, organic cocoa powder, and essential oils for a luxurious chocolatey moisturizing treatment which detoxifies both hair and scalp. The clay treatment rejuvenates dry hair, leaving the curls soft, detangled and defined. Just like the butters, our clays are organic, PH balanced, free of silicones and safe for use on both hair and skin.

Our guiding belief is that, with the right care, Afro-textured hair can be beautiful and bountiful. We aim to go beyond providing premium products to providing hair care tips and spreading the love for our uniquely Ugandan coils and kinks on our social media!
