Product Review: Giovanni Direct Leave-In Conditioner
This product had been on my wishlist for so long… you know those lists that we generate after watching our favourite Youtubers go on about them? Yeah you know them… So I kept forgetting to purchase it until I saw Naturals For You – a mobile shop, advertise it on out Facebook Group. I hastily ordered one and have now emptied one bottle! Okay ladies, lets get to review Giovanni Direct Leave-in Conditioner… especially for type 4 hair.
weightless moisture conditioner
restores strength, luster and nourishment to abused hair
moisturizes and builds body
detangles for easy comb out, easy styling
Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Tocopherol vitamin E, panthenol, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, natural fragrance, grapefruit extract, aloe vera juice, sunflower seed oil, soybean seed extract, insert rare botanical extracts here, lavender extract, rosemary extract, clary extract, thyme extract, coltsfoot flower extract, nettle extract.
As a leave-in conditioner
This is my favourite way to use it. Add a dollop of conditioner to your hands, and apply to freshly cleansed and deep conditioned hair while its damp. It’s best to use it in sections that you washed your hair in to prevent tangles and frizz. Proceed to seal in this moisture.
To use it between wash days, lightly mist your hair with your spritz mix and apply the conditioner in sections followed by sealing. It will constitute the Liquid in the LOC / LCO methods.
As a detangler
Due to its size and the fact that its not readily available in Uganda… I never used it this way… but if I did I would have diluted with water and oil in a spray bottle. I did find that it was easier to comb hair after using it.
As anything else
I’ve only used this product as a leave-in conditioner. There’s a scale at the back of the packaging that shows what level of conditioning one should expect to get from it
the most slip that a conditioner has
does the job
Lasts forever – a little goes a long way
Not made in Uganda
Packaging is not made to be used while your hands are wet… which is odd by all means…
scent is a little too perfumey for my taste
As a leave-in conditioner as the liquid portion of the LOC/LCO methods. I don’t know about the weightless moisture but I found it to be an awesome leave-in conditioner.
It’s got the right amount of slip for type 4 natural hair and is quite comparable to my favourite leave-in – Keracare Natural Textures Leave-in conditioner.
Tell me in the comments below; what is your favourite / best leave-in conditioner for type 4 natural hair? Have you tried out Giovanni Direct Leave-in conditioner?
